Recently I’ve been working on some serious smut, and it’s driving my up the wall because the perspective is WRONG, and limbs are everywhere, and my lineart is split over like.. 10 layers because I’m indecisive TAT.
This was a little stress relief doodle from my sketchbook xD Inspired partly by the Vampire Knight fanbook, Zero calls Kaname a poophead, I think shithead would’ve been more in character but I dunno, too offensive for the kiddies, and also partly by (guess whooo? xDD) BW’s fanfic, SitD, that chapter when Kaname fucks Zero in the mens bathroom and Zero cusses alot, rrrrrr >xDD
Anyway, This is a totally unsexy =u=” sorry guys. BTW These guys are still their canon ages, Zero 18, Kaname 19, they’re just drawn in a different style (Chibi) ;3 Cheerio 0/! (Thank you for the advice Sagakure!)

I forgot to say it earlier, but the heart-shaped censoring mark is adorable. XD<3

I just wish we could also see Kaname's face. T^T It must be lovely considering, erm, what they are doing. 8D
If I must make a suggestion though, it would be to maybe up the rating to MA, and perhaps even more than that, to add a note to it to make sure that anyone clicking the pic understands that what you are portraying here are the guys in their current canon VK age, of 18 for Zero and 19 for Kaname. ^^;;;
Because us who are yaoi fans and who are always thinking of various VK pervy thingies, will have their ages in mind and know that the guys are grown up, so it will be fine for us, but… ^^;
Someone who is just passing by, or even a VK fan who isn't as much into the series, could see this and assume they are kids. ^^; Especially with the round shapes that SD-style naturally has, some people could mistake it for being kids instead of adults drawn in SD style. ^^;;;
In all fandoms there's always some people who get shocked even at innocent nudity, much less at anything sexual at all, and are quick to jump and accuse. ^^;
Unbelievable as it may seem there has been a couple of people who claimed that my innocent flash-game in which you dress-up a SD-Kaname was terrible, because he appears to be naked, even though I put a censoring bar over his crotch. O_o
Not only was that game something with Kaname in Academy age, so 18, but the game was also completely innocent, just a dress-up game with 100% nothing sexual at all, I just put the censoring bar so that people wouldn't complain about the nudity, and yet some people claimed it seemed sick as a result and seemed to be porn with a way too young character…. even though there was no porn whatsoever, it was, well, nothing more than a dress-up game. O_o
I imagine the same people also go around getting shocked when they see magazines for children in which the kids are supposed to cut up the clothes-shapes to fold them around a paper doll, which is naked. XD
That's not porn, and neither was my mini-game, it's about the same thing. ^^;
Sorry for the long comment about such a thing, but since the pic is sexual and in SD style, and since people can be weird when it comes to assumptions in that subject, I thought I'd mention this to you in hopes that it might avoid you having any weird experiences with people mistaking the SD-style for something it's not. ^^; A note tends to dispel any doubts and cover the artist from people leaving unpleasant comments or anything of the such. ^^;

In the original it was nothing crude like that at all, the insults the two used were really innocent and on par with the cute and comical image it was on. ^^; (Hence why when I scanlated those pages a long time ago, I used “idiot” and “jerk”.)
I’m surprised they put poop in there in the English release… it’s not the most appealing mental image. XD;
yeah, piece of poop really is a gross thing to call someone (I think Kaname’s feelings really might get hurt).. I think the simpler insults that sounds childish, like poo hole or hole face or poo face, are the most off-putting really. What they say in the Japanese one? :0 *curious* I think your translation is more aptly suited ^-^ (but Zero saying piece of shit is SO in character xD haha)
XD I think it might be because those words in particular sound so much worse/powerful/crude in English? The concept of excrement in general is never pretty, but somehow, the words “shit” or even “poop” sound worse/more powerful in English than they do in Japanese, at least in my mind… it might be subjective.
I could totally see Zero saying “shit” or other related things if it’s serious!Zero in a serious situation (especially considering he grew up around Yagari, who speaks a bit more roughly than some of the other characters), but because that page of the fanbook was all cutesy and comical it seems odd to have ‘poop’ openly like that in English. Maybe it’s just me. ^^;
In the original Kaname said “boke” (which means “idiot” but in a not truly offensive way), and Zero said either “uroko” or “u[something censored with a circle]ko”. It was handwritten and the base of that character was more on the flat side than on the circle side, so it could technically be debated whether it was meant to be a quickly written “ro”, or a quickly drawn circle to ‘censor’ a chunk of the word despite the flat base. In the first case, it means ‘scale’ (like a fish’s scales), and is not a conventional insult but works in the comical and funny situation (especially since the whole scene is like little kids fighting, with the background text that page had being the cute nonsensical stuff about the kittens and puppies XD), and if it was meant to be a censoring circle, then the censored word Zero would be likely to be saying would be “u[n]ko”, which is a somewhat innocent word for, well, excrement, but it seems to me that the English “shit” or “poop” sounds much worse than that words does in Japanese, and would have made it seem like Zero was being much more crude. It’s also tricky since there’s not really an English equivalent of showing only chunks of words to ‘soften a blow’ when censoring a word in text, so it might have been awkward to put s[00]t or p[00]p and have people be all “O_o what?”.
Especially since if it’s “u[n]ko”, then in the Japanese version it was censored even though it was an innocent word in Japanese; a censoring done to block out that idea of excrement from being openly displayed, making it seem like an insult but way less shocking that actually having ‘poop’ written.
Which is why I used the word “jerk” since in English that has both the meaning of dried strips of meat and of an insult, so it seemed to fit nicely in that spot, to be an insult but not actually too offensive, in the lack of a better equivalent coming to mind back then. ^^;
As the saying goes, “traduttore, traditore”, no translation can be 100% perfect since each language varies so much in so many details, including level of insulting-ness of words, even kid-like ones. ^^
All that we can do is try to convey the original feeling of it as much as possible and as closely as we can.

I guess poop IS more comical than shit, since poop is like poo poo and that is what little kids use more often, still can’t imagine Zero saying it though, since he’s such a serious (+easily flustered hehe) guy.
