Deep in the mountains, a black limousine made its way up a long and narrow road that wound its way through dense forest. The road led deep into the mountain, far away from any towns or cities.

Far away from anything, really.

The night was dark and moonless and very clear; stars twinkled all over the sky.

Inside the limo a young man sat across from a slightly older middle aged man, neither had spoken for a long time. The young man crossed his arms a let out a long low sigh. “How much longer, Headmaster?”

The middle aged man didn’t bother to stop looking out the window as he answered. “Don’t be so impatient   Kiryu, really, we have plenty of time left,” he said somewhat dismissively. “I know you’re excited but it will be awhile yet before we get there, so you must contain yourself. After all, you’ll be able to spend all night with her—Oof!”

The Headmaster exhaled sharply as Zero’s boot connected forcefully with his chest.

“The only reason I’m here is for the chance to kill those blood starved beasts,” Zero snarled. The Headmaster shook his head. “No, no, Zero, we’re here on a peaceful mission. You are not to kill anybody tonight.”

Zero’s smile was grim. “The ‘mission’ may be peaceful, but I’m not; they take even one step out of line and I’ll have all the reason I need to hunt them down,” he ground out. Zero’s eyes darkened and flashed red. “Now that we have that established, CAN I TAKE OFF THIS GOD-DAMNED BLINDFOLD ALREADY?!”

The effect of Zero’s glare was somewhat diminished by the hot-pink scarf covering his eyes. The Headmaster had picked it out himself to give Zero; it was covered in cartoony cats with suggestive eyes and had the words ‘Bad-Boy’ written all over it.

Before they set out Headmaster Cross had insisted that Zero be blindfolded, so as to maintain the privacy and continued safety of the people who were tonight’s hosts. Zero was pissed.

Chairman Cross frowned. “That’s not very nice Kiryu,” he said, ignoring the second part of what Zero had said. ”The purpose of tonight’s celebration is to broker good will between the heads of the vampire and hunter races.”

The Headmaster readjusted his glasses; he regarded the fuming boy in front of him. “As the future head of the hunter’s society, one of your duties will be to seek diplomatic resolutions to any conflicts that arise,” he pointed out in a level voice.

“To do that, it’s important that you foster good relations with the Kuran household ,which leads the vampire race.” When Zero merely grunted, Cross got a mischievous glint in his eye.  He continued.

“Of course, the fact that the lady of the Kuran household is also your beloved little sister will undoubtedly—Gaahk!” The Headmaster was abruptly cut off as Zero’s foot knocked his chin to the left.

*Crack*

A large fissure ran though the panel of tinted glass in the side of the limo; the Headmaster examined it while he rubbed his throbbing chin. The limo actually belonged to the Kurans, but he kept that info to himself. He didn’t want to give his ward any ideas.

If Kiryu knew he’d just want to break it more.

Cross sighed. “Never mind then, we’ll arrive shortly.”

~

“Happy new year Headmaster!” “Hello Chairman, good of you to come.” Yuki and Kaname greeted him as they stood on the doorstep of the Kuran manor; they were both dressed in warm formal evening clothes.

Yuki’s dress was made of black velvet and was long-sleeved and high-collared and it went almost to the ground but even so, the dress still managed to show off her figure. The dress had been tailored to fit snugly against Yuki’s body and had a slit in the side of it that went up to her thigh and showed off her strappy black high heel shoes. Her nails had been done to perfection by Kaname earlier that day. A design of swirling silver vines wrapped decoratively around the dress.

Kaname was wearing black wool pants and a black wool vest over a silvery gray dress-shirt. He had specifically picked his outfit out to match well with Yuki’s dress, and was unhappy to see that Zero’s slightly disheveled black silk dress-shirt and gray silk pants also matched Yuki’s dress.

Kaname was also slightly disturbed to realize that Zero’s attractively rumpled clothes also went flawlessly with Kaname’s own outfit. The colors were similar but the fabrics they were made of contrasted, and  both set off each other’s clothes perfectly.

Kaname tried to push his thoughts aside for now; he still had to host a party after all.

Yuki, unaware of her brothers troubling thoughts, was smiling brightly from her place in the crook of Kaname’s arm.  “Yukki! My lovely daughter you look so beautiful tonight!” The Headmaster called as he ran to the front door. “Give your father a big hug!”

The Headmaster was decked out in an ornate late-eighteenth century party outfit.

Nimbly dodging the Chairman as he threw himself at her, Yuki wrapped her arms around her brother’s torso. “Um…It’s good to see you too Headmaster.” She said as Cross landed on the ground. “Father…” he wept.

“Fucking  moron,” Yagari ridiculed, trotting over the Headmaster’s back on his way through the door. Yagari had refused to be driven here, and had followed behind the limo on his Harley.

Yagari was dressed in what could only be described as ‘early cowboy-style’ clothing.

Zero came in right behind his master, leaving his own set of foot prints on the Chairman’s back. Yuki watched the Headmaster right himself and limp off after his companions.  She nuzzled Kaname’s back.

“Onii-Sama, I think this is going to be a really great new year’s party.” Kaname smiled as he shut the door. “Yes, I believe so too.” Kaname cupped the side of her face with his hand, running his fingers through her silky hair.

He kissed her. “Happy new year, Yuki…” Her smile was radiant as she looked up at him, her cheeks turning pink. She looks so charming when she blushes, absolutely stunning. Kaname thought.

“Happy new year, Kaname Onii-Sama.” She grabbed his hand and the two of them set out down the hall to join the party. “Um… Sooooo… Onii-Sama, I was thinking about how you’ve been so busy this week…”

Kaname’s eyes where adoring as he looked down at her “Yes Yuki?” “Weeell…” Yuki’s cheeks darkened even more and a cat-like smile slowly spread across her face. “You even missed Christmas.”

A sad look crossed Kaname’s face. Yes, he had missed their first Christmas together. There hadn’t been anything he could do about it, but he still felt horrible for having missed out on something so special.

“I know, I’m so sorry Yuki.” Kaname had been so looking forward to the holiday; He’d felt crushed when he realized that he’d be spending it doing busy work. He regretted ruining Yuki’s Christmas too.

Lifting Kaname’s hand she rubbed it against her cheek. “Silly, why are you apologizing for that again? I told you it was all right, didn’t I?” A dark light sparkled behind Yuki’s eyes. “What I meant was…”

Yuki got up on her tiptoes and breathed into his ear. ”You still haven’t had a chance to ‘play’ with your new toy, have you?” Kaname’s eyes widened a bit. His heart sped up as he felt heat rush to his gut.

“So I thought we might try it out tonight; you know, after the party ends.” A wet tongue ran along the shell of Kaname’s ear, making him shudder. “I really hope you like it; I tried hard when picking it out.”

A shiver of delight rippled through Kaname as Yuki’s hand slid over the front of his pants suggestively.  Kaname had actually already opened his present, but had yet to ‘put it to use’. Even so he found the gift very… enticing.

Breathing hard, Kaname grabbed Yuki’s hands and held them to his chest. “Oh, I liked my present very much Yuki; have no doubt about that.” Kaname bent down and brushed his lips against Yuki’s, running his tongue on her bottom lip.

“And we will have plenty of time to… play. But right now we have a party to host, and I don’t think we should make our guests wait any longer.” With that, he tucked Yuki’s arm under his and led them to the party.

The party was small, with only a select few guests invited. Kaname had originally planned to have a much bigger celebration than this, but had nixed that idea after having to work all the way though Christmas.

The party was being held in the sitting room. Meticulous and festive decorations covered every square inch of the room; the table cloth, lamps, rug, curtains, seat covers, and table were all done up in sparkling gold and silver.

There were two columns on either side on the main door leading in to the room, and silver and gold garland had been wrapped all the way around them from the floor to the ceiling.

Long trailing silver bows with gold bells had been hung from the top of the curtains and along the edge of the ceiling, while the furniture was decorated with smaller gold bows with silver bells.

The whole place seemed to glitter under the dim lighting.

On the table, a buffet style meal was laid out. A slightly smaller table was pushed up near the window, and held an assortment of wine, champagne, brandy, liquor, and other drinks.

“Sorry we’re late everyone, let the party now begin” Kaname said quietly from the doorway. Although the ‘everyone’ he referred to was actually just a small group of seven people.

More people had been invited, but many had canceled due to various reasons. Shiki and Rima got held up at work and then were further delayed by snow. Finally they called to say they weren’t coming because their plane was grounded do to ice.

The hunters would rather eat live fire than visit a vampire for the holidays; Lord Aido was called away due to some political emergency or another, and Ichijo was still being held captive by Sara.

Kaito had said he’d come but had ducked out at the last minute, something about getting an offer from a sweet piece of tail. Zero suspected it was more than that, but had kept his opinion to himself.

What that meant was that the only ones here were Hanabusa Aido who came early and Ruka Souen and Akatsuki Kain who came to keep their wayward cousin out of trouble, as well as the three hunters who’d just arrived.

Aido was wearing white linen pants and a blue sweater-vest over a long-sleeved white shirt. The stiff ivory dress shirt Kain was wearing had black pin-stripes on it and beneath it he was wearing black jeans.

Ruka’s red cocktail dress had a crane in mid-flight embroidered onto it with gold thread that matched the long formal golden gloves on her arm. Her shoes were a matching gold with red feathers sewn into them.

Seiren had already been here before the party started; she was standing in the corner acting as security. Seiren was the most formally dressed person at the party; she was wearing a full three-peace tux that had been tailored to fit her lithe body.  She even had a rose in her pocket.

Currently, Seiren was eyeing the Headmaster who was shaking flakes of something green on to a plate of hors d’ oeuvres.

The Headmaster was stooped over a plate of pot stickers, shaking some flakes of something from a glass jar over them. Yuki pranced up from behind him and wrapped her arms around him.

Ostensibly Yuki was hugging him, in actuality she was pulling him away from the food.

“Headmaster!” Her voice was sing song and light and had an ill concealed edge to it. ”You promised not to poison the guests tonight… ” It was said as a joke, but the tone in her voice suggested that she thought there was a real possibility of that actually happening.

“Hmmmm? Oh I’m just spicing this up a little, adding a touch of ‘my style’ to it.” The chairman’s voice was cheerful and Yuki resisted the urge to cringe. “There’s no need,”

“Onii-Sama and I worked really hard to make these,” Yuki lied; her and her brother couldn’t cook to save their lives. The food had actually been prepared by hired chiefs who had come by that morning.

Yuki couldn’t cook anything more complicated than a bowl of cereal. Not that Yuki didn’t love to experiment in the kitchen, she did; but the results were always strange creations that even her beloved brother couldn’t force himself to eat.

*As for Kaname’s cooking… The last time he tried to cook anything was when he tried to make dinner for Yuki’s birthday. Thankfully, Yuki had been able to suppress most of those memories by now.

The only thing Yuki remembered about it now was Aido being rushed to the hospital, Ruka sobbing and Kain’s hair being neon blue the next time she saw it; Yuki herself had been infirmed for days afterward…

Yuki’s memory of being bed-ridden was very hazy at this point. (She vaguely recalled Kaname sitting by her bed and apologizing the whole time.) But it was enough to give her a knee-jerk aversion to any gastronomic exploration. The fact that the Headmaster was a known culinary offender didn’t help.

She pulled a bit harder on the Headmasters lapels.

“Please Headmaster, ah… Fa–Father there’s no need to work, you should just enjoy the party.” There was a note of desperation in her voice. “Nonsense my lovely daughter, it’s no trouble at all!”

The Headmaster beamed. Yukki called me ‘Father’! ”Don’t worry, I’ll have these boring dishes spiced up in no time!” Yuki was appalled. ”NO! You can’t! You, um… That is… ah…” A sudden idea came to Yuki then.

“Your Super Special Punch! You still haven’t made it yet and everyone’s waiting for it!” She gestured around the room where exactly nobody was paying any attention to them. “It just wouldn’t be the holidays without it!”

The Headmaster’s eyes twinkled. “Of course, how could I have forgotten?! I’ll have to go make some up right away!” His hand closed around Yuki’s wrist. “Would you like to help your father, Yuki?”

Yuki blanched at the Headmasters cheerful smile. “S-Sure, I’d love to.” Yuki Would rather stick bamboo splinters under her fingernails, but decided not to dampen the Headmaster’s New Year by saying so.

The primary Ingredients in the Headmaster’s Super Special Punch were orange juice, Kool-Aid, double chocolate mint ice cream and olive oil; and not the light olive oil either, but the extra virgin stuff. There were also five to ten other ‘secret ingredients’ that changed every time the Headmaster made his punch.

The chairman skipped off happily, dragging Yuki behind him by her shirt sleeve. Yuki’s face was a carefully frozen mask of false enthusiasm and she followed with all the hope of a man being marched to the gallows. Watching from the corner, Kaname saw Yuki and the Headmaster disappear down the hall in the direction of the kitchen.

He frowned; he hoped Yuki would be safe in that death-trap alone with that madman. Kitchens… Really, what good have they ever done for anyone? Their filthy cluttered and dangerous

After the fiasco on Yuki’s birthday Kaname had decided that he didn’t much like the kitchen. He also didn’t want to think about what another ‘incident’ would do to their insurance rates…

The last time, he’d had to threaten the son of the insurance companies’ president just to get any coverage at all. Still lost in thought, Kaname wandered over to the drinks to grab a glass of wine.

Kaname side-stepped Zero on his way to the drink table, gracefully picking up a glass of dark red wine. He turned to survey the party; Zero was standing next to him slowly sipping from a bottle of cognac.

Zero gave no indication that he saw the pureblood or was at all bothered by his presence. Apparently, Kaname thought, Zero had decided to ignore him this evening. Brushing off his annoyance he looked at the rest of the room.

Yagari had already snatched three bottles of liquor from the table. He’d polished off two of them; the empty bottles lay on the floor by the couch he was sitting on. Yagari’s boots rested on the coffee table in front of him.

Ruka and Kain had been drinking since early in the evening and both were a little tipsy; their faces were flushed and Kaname could hear them giggle now and then as they whispered things into each other’s ear.

I had better watch them closely tonight, or they might end up doing something they’ll both regret tomorrow.

Aido was taking his first sip of white wine across the room. He had been holding his cup for over an hour now but had refused to drink from it; Aido had promised himself that he wouldn’t start to drink until he saw Kaname-Sama drink.

Aido actually had a very low tolerance for alcohol and was trying not to get drunk before he could celebrate New Year’s with his favorite Pureblood. Just two hours to go now…

A cell phone went off in the corner of the room; Seiren reached into her pocket and retrieved it. She glanced at it briefly then put it to her ear; she listened for a few moments and then said something quiet.

Snapping the phone closed, she quickly made her way across the room to where Kaname was. “I’m afraid I have to go now, my Lord.” Seiren bowed deeply. “Something has come up.”

Kaname traced the rim of his wine glass with his finger. ”Is it something I need to attend to, Seiren?” Seiren remand bowed as she answered. “No my Lord, I can handle this matter on my own.”

Kaname sighed a bit in relief; he hadn’t really wanted to have to leave party, he was looking forward to spending New Years with Yuki. “I see. go then, Seiren.” Seiren straightened and then quietly left the party.

Yagari thumped his empty liquor bottle on the table. “Hey stupid apprentice, get me another bottle!” In spite of the three bottles of liquor he’d drunk, Yagari was only moderately drunk as opposed to dead, like most people would be.

Zero, still poignantly ignoring the Pureblood next to him, didn’t turn around or acknowledge his master’s request. Zero pitched forward and nearly toppled on to the table in front of him when an empty liquor bottle shattered against the back of his skull.

Zero whirled and threw a bottle of cognac at his smirking master; Yagari caught the bottle effortlessly in one hand. “Thanks,” Yagari said as he popped the top off the bottle with his finger.

Zero gritted his teeth. “You’re going to drink yourself into a coma.” Yagari snorted in response. “Yeah right, I can handle a lot more (hic) then this. You’re the idiot light-weight around here.”

Yagari held up his bottle as if to make his point clearer. “You’ve had what, two sips? And you’re already flush-faced. You’d probably throw up if you had a whole (hic) glass.” Yagari leaned his head back and took a long swig from his cognac.

The liquor Yagari had drunk had finally reached his liver en force and he was well on his way to being truly shit-faced. Kaname snickered as he watched the two hunters.

“You know Kiryu, we have non-alcoholic sparkling cider if your stomach can’t handle the strong stuff.” He snickered. “Or you could wait for Yuki and the Headmaster to return with their ‘Special Punch’.”

Snorting, Yagari picked up his cognac and took a swig. “You had better not, Zero. If you drink all the punch then what will this poor gutless bastard have (hic) left to drink?” ‘This poor gutless bastard‘  obviously referring to Kaname

From across the room a mildly flushed Aido fumed. “That’s not true at all! Kaname-Sama drinks all the time, even when it’s not a holiday!” Aido probably should have worded his assertion differently.

Feeling a bit tipsy, Aido had been thinking that Kaname usually had wine with his dinner and had meant to point that out; unfortunately Aido had made it sound as if Kaname was a wino.

Aido was actually halfway drunk himself even though he had only had a half glass of wine. Vampires were highly susceptible to anything that was carried in the blood, especially alcohol.

In the background Kain started to give Ruka’s collarbone an open mouthed kiss; Ruka’s hand rubbed circles around the front of Kain’s pants.

Tipping his head back, Yagari laughed. “Yeah right, vamps can’t hold their alcohol worth shit. His liver would probably melt after two beers.” Aido turned red in indignation. “Kaname-Sama can out drink everyone in this room!”

“Don’t make me laugh;” Yagari jerked his thumb at Zero. “I bet he couldn’t even out drink my cup-cake apprentice over there.” Zero’s cheeks darkened a few shades as he listened to his master.

“Aido…” Kaname cautioned, neither he nor Zero liked the way the conversation was going. Heedless of Kaname’s warning, Aido marched right up to the elder hunter. “You’re on! May the best vampire win!”

Zero and Kaname looked uneasy, neither of them had a very high tolerance for alcohol. “Aido, I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Kaname tried to reason.  Turning to Kaname with a shocked expression, Aido pleaded with him.“But Kaname-Sama, surely you’re not going to let this ex-human show you up? What would Yuki think?”

That made Kaname’s back straighten. “Of course not Aido, I’m merely worried that Kiryu might hurt himself when he passes out.” The smile that Kaname gave was a little too kind.

Zero turned to Kaname with an incredulous look on his face that quickly turned into a menacing grin. “Worried about me, huh Kuran? How sweet of you; it’s nice to know that you’ll be thinking of me while you puke your small intestines into the toilet.”

Zero’s smile was vicious. “Yuki must be jealous,  what with her boyfriend mooning over someone else“. Kaname’s answering smile was just as unpleasant. “Jealous…? Well, it would be hard for a girl not to be jealous of your delicate figure.”

Zero’s fists curled. “Oh really? I didn’t realize you were so self-conscious.”

Kaname’s eyes narrowed as Zero‘s teeth ground together. It was so on now.

Behind the couch Kain was pinning Ruka to the wall; he was pulling the strap of her dress down with his teeth. Kain’s pants had gotten lost somewhere along the way, and Ruka’s hand now slid slowly down his abdomen and slipped into his boxers.

Slamming his drink down Yagari jumped to his feet, and then staggered and almost fell as his head swam from the alcohol. “Wooooo!!” He yelled, uncharacteristically enthused. “All right! Let’s do this!”

Staggering drunkenly, Yagari walked over and stood behind Zero, then pulled his apprentice’s tie off (The Headmaster had made Zero wear one) and then tied it around Zero’s head like a bandana.

On equally unsteady feet, Aido walked over to Kaname’s side. Somewhat more hesitant to lay his hands on Kaname than Yagari had been with Zero, Aido simply fetched two shot glasses and placed them in front of the two competitors.

Reaching down, Aido grabbed a jar of pure moonshine from under the table and poured a shot for each of them. Kaname was momentarily distracted. Where did that come from…? Did we really have a bottle of moonshine lying around the house?

Setting aside his thoughts, both he and Zero picked up their shots and chugged them back in one swallow. The moonshine hit Kaname’s gut like a battering-ram; the burn nearly brought tears to his eyes. For a second, neither Zero nor Kaname could breathe, then they both started panting heavily.

Kaname tried to keep his eyes from watering. His Mother used to tease him about his lack of tolerance for alcohol, and she was right. His parents used to let him have a glass of wine with dinner when he was a kid and he usually gagged it up afterwards.

They still served it to him though because he would eventually have to attend soirees when he grew up and it would not go unnoticed that he never drank  wine or anything with alcohol in it.

Kaname still drank wine after his parents death so he could build up a tolerance for it, and still drank it now in memory of his parents; but he didn’t like hard liquor and didn’t usually drink it.

Zero wasn’t doing much better. He and Ichiru had gotten (stolen) some whisky out of the cabinet when they were very young.  They had gotten very sick and threw up all over the living room rug.

They had gotten in a lot of trouble for that and their Mother and Father had both chewed them out and then grounded them. Zero had never really liked drinking after that.

Aido poured another shot. Steeling themselves, Zero and Kaname grabbed their moonshine and took a shot. It burned just as bad the second time, it felt like acid going down and Zero had to resist the urge to have a coughing fit.

“Come on Kaname-Sama, show that ex-human his place!” Aido yelled. “You kick that son-of-a-bitch’s ass, Zero!” Yagari railed. Aido and Yagari were both whooping and hollering. The elder hunter was normally fairly reserved, but he was quite wasted and any sense of propriety he possessed had been chased off.

Kain and Ruka had moved to behind the loveseat. Ruka’s dress and bra had been misplaced and Kain was sucking ardently on her left breast.

Aido was all but jumping up and down with excitement as he poured the third shot. Kaname’s head buzzed and Zero’s sight was blurring; in spite of this, they grabbed their shots and swigged them back.

Feeling like he was on fire, Kaname tried to stand steady but the floor kept rocking back and forth. Zero clutched his stomach; he felt pretty sure that he was going to die. It felt like he had swallowed napalm.

Vampires process alcohol very fast. This means that their hangovers don’t last nearly as long as a human’s would, but it also means that they get drunk faster.

Neither Zero nor Kaname noticed right away when Aido refilled their cups. Yagari cleared his throat loudly to snap them out of it. They started as if they had been awoken from a dream;

Kaname and Zero reached out to grab their fourth shot.

And then they keeled over, completely passed out.

Yagari and Aido stared down at the two passed-out contestants. “Kaname-Sama?” Aido nudged Kaname’s cadaver with his foot. Yagari snorted. “Hmpf, pussies…” Grabbing the two shots of moonshine, Yagari downed them one after the other.

Taking the lid off the jar of moonshine, Aido gave it a tentative sniff before sipping a little off the top; he grimaced. Blech, This stuff tastes worse than battery acid. Aido actually knew what battery-acid tasted like; he had tried it once on a dare by Kain, although he didn’t like to think about it.

Just then, the door to the kitchen opened and the Headmaster emerged, smiling brightly. Yuki followed soon after, her smile was much more brittle. Yuki was holding a big red plastic bowl out in front of her.

She was holding the bowl as far away from her as possible, trying to keep the vile smelling brew from her nose. They made their way down two short hallways and one long one before finally making it back to the ‘party’.

“We’re back everyone! And we have the Super Special Secret Punch, enjoy everybody!” Of course, ‘everybody’ was now only two people. Yuki was momentarily distracted by a shadow on the wall, as Yuki set the ‘punch’ down she looked up and saw a pair of men’s pants hanging from the chandelier.

Yuki didn’t have long to ponder where the pants came from before an ear-splitting scream of pleasure sounded through the room, followed by a smaller moan of contentment. Looking around the room, Yuki spotted Kain’s and Ruka’s naked legs sticking out from the back of the love seat.

A small ‘tic’ began to twitch in Yuki’s right eye.

“Um… Kaname-Onii-sama…? Zero…?” Yuki glanced around desperately for any sane, stable force left in the room. Unfortunately, she found her two wayward ‘brothers’ passed-out on the floor next to the table of alcohol.

Kain and Ruka were making quite a lot of thumping and groaning noises from behind the loveseat by now. Yuki shook Kaname’s shoulder, and then Zero’s, pleading with them to get up. They were about as responsive as the rugs they were laying on; finally she gave up and stood.

The Headmaster wrapped his arm around a despondent Yuki’s waist. “Ah, don’t fear my lovely daughter; they’re just filled with the Holiday spirits.” It took all of Yuki’s willpower to keep her from causing the Headmaster grave bodily harm.

The Headmaster handed Yuki a cup of his evil punch. “This just means that we have more left for us!”  The punch in Yuki’s hand had chunks of spicy goat’s cheese and marshmallows floating in it.

The Headmaster poured the rest of the noxious punch into several cups. “It’ll be okay Yukki, you’ll see. Hey, it’s just 30 minutes until midnight; how about we sing the last song of the year together. A hundred ‘n one bottles of beer on the wall a hundred ‘n one bottles beer! Take one down ‘n pass it ‘round, a hundred bottles of beer on the wall!”

The Headmaster dragged Yuki over to where Aido was swaying on his feet; he slapped the young noble on the shoulder. “Come on, you can sing along too!”

Aido was looking rather green. He turned to Yuki. “I think I need to lay down; I feel kind of sick-“ Aido was cut off as he suddenly lurched forward and hurled, splattering vomit down the front of Yuki’s party dress. Yuki tried to back up but she was trapped in the Headmaster arms and wasn’t able to avoid it when Aido threw-up for the second time, this time hitting her shoes and her perfectly Kaname-manicured toe nails.

“Sorry…” Aido mumbled as he fell forwards, landing face-first in his own barf.

Yagari staggered over to the Headmaster, side stepping Aido’s dead body.  Wrapping his arm around the Headmaster’s shoulder, he began to sing along with the Headmaster. “Ninety-eight bottles of beer on the wall! Ninety-eight bottles of beer!”

The door at the far end of the room opened and Seiren walked through. She took a long look around the room, briefly stopping at the sight of Kaname and Zero on the floor, and than she backed out and closed the door again.

Ruka’s hot-red panties, flung from somewhere across the room, fluttered down and landed on Yuki’s head; Yuki could smell the musky scent of lust and passion on it. Yuki numbly looked over to where her ‘brothers’ decorated the floor.

Only one thought passed though her head as she watched them…

Revenge .

A slow and wicked smile curled Yuki’s lips. I think I know just how to punish those two naughty boys…

Woooo! Chapter done! This is the first of two chapters; I had originally meant for this to be a one-shot but it turned out to be a lot longer than I had anticipated, so I broke it into two halves. If I hadn’t separated the fic into two chapters I probably would have missed my chance at posting this on/around New Years.

This is my second fan-fiction. My first fan-fiction was ‘Until the Sun Rises Over the Moon’ (The second chapter of which is up!) It also took place around New Years, but in that fic, New Years was just a backdrop to the story. After writing USROM, I thought it would be nice to write a fan-fic that was actually about New Years for the Vampire Knight cast.

Obviously, this fic has been done with the western style of New Years celebration in mind; the Japan style is a bit different. Western style involves staying up until midnight, throwing confetti, screaming, yelling, blowing horns, getting plastered and calling in sick on Monday because you still have a hangover.

Japanese style involves watching the first sunrise of the year, visiting temples, (Woman) wearing kimonos, getting paper fortunes, tying said paper fortunes onto trees, and (I would imagine) getting plastered and calling in sick the next day because you still have a hangover. J (Ahhh alcohol, you’re one of the only constants of human history.) lol

I went with a western style because it’s the one I’m more familiar with and because the story wouldn’t work if it was just Kaname Yuki and Zero visiting temples with everyone. I also made it a home party because it would cause problems in the story if Kaname and Zero were getting drunk at a pub or nightclub or someplace that was public.

I feel a bit bad for Yuki, D: like I should apologize to her or something; but then again she is going to extract her price in the next chapter. XD (Kaname and Zero will have their comeuppance! Mwa ha ha ha ha!)

For the sake of this fic we’ll just assume that several years have passed in between the current timeline in the manga and the timeline in this fan-fiction, or else that the legal drinking age is 17 in whatever country Vampire Knight takes place in.

I would like to give thanks to my Mom for reading/editing this fic.

I’d like to say thanks to Blackened Wing for all the work she does on this site as well as all the work she does for the fandom itself.

And I would of course like to thank You the reader for taking the time to read this fan-fiction of mine.

Thank you all very much!

It's New Years Eve and the Kurans are holding a small vampire/hunter party; but when Yuki is left alone to deal with the crazy party guests she decides that a little payback is in order. Kaname and Zero had better be careful, for a pureblood's revenge is a harsh thing and Yuki's punishment may very well be more then they can handle. Two-shot.
