Level E Vampires have quite literally fallen off the bottom of the Vampire class pyramid. They are ex-humans who no longer retain sanity, reason or humanity and are driven only by their desperate and inescapable hunger for blood. As such, they are both incredibly tragic and very dangerous beings.
Controlling and exterminating Level E’s is the responsibility of both the Vampire nobility and the Hunters, although since they are enemies they do not generally cooperate in this task. Becoming a Level E vampire is the ultimate fate of all ex-humans who have not been stabilized by receiving the blood of the Purebloodwho turned them.
