Vampire Knight vampires are not “undead” like traditional vampires. They are instead an actual separate race of beings who are genetically different from humans. They fall into 5 different Levels or Classes depending on the purity of their bloodline. The structure of the first 4 is depicted by the pyramid to the left. The top of the pyramid represents the most powerful, pure-blooded vampires whose numbers are now few and as the pyramid widens the power levels decrease and the population level increases, with Level C being the most common. Level E Vampires are not represented on the pyramid because they are considered to have “fallen off” of it.
